Dr. Plunte’ Riddle is a Commissioner for the Board of Juvenile Hearings for the state of California. She is the former Political Director for Assemblymember Chris Holden. Prior to this assignment, she was appointed as Chris Holden’s District Director overseeing eleven cities and focused on policy areas concerning mental health, public safety, judiciary matters, and utilities and energy, as well as collaborating with the Legislative Black Caucus.
She broke barriers and honed her leadership, management skills and community collaboration in the nearly 29 years she spent rising through the ranks of the Pasadena Police Department. She was the first African American female sergeant, lieutenant and then adjutant to the chief of police in the history of Pasadena Police Department.
Upon her retirement, she launched her own consulting company, Phlunte’ Riddle Leadership Consultants, where she works with executives in communicating vision, leadership and generational challenges. Dr. Riddle is published in Emotional Intelligence leadership to Engage the Millennial Worker. She was an adjunct professor for several universities and has served as a board member on numerous non-profit organizations.
Dr. Riddle has her Doctorate degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Organizational Management. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration. She is also a graduate of California Command College and a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
She says, her greatest joy is her family. Dr. Riddle has been married 44 years to Edgar Riddle. They have three adult married sons and are blessed with five beautiful and amazing grandchildren.
